The Lion Fell In Love With The Lamb – Twilight Tattoos
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two years, you can’t have missed the book and film that has dominated both good and negative debate for much of that time.
Twilight, Stephanie Meyer’s novel, has generated a horde of followers who have gone beyond the normal bounds of fixation and emerged in their own universe.
These folks are called as “Twi-hards,” and they have been known to get their passion for the story indelibly inscribed on their skin to immortalise it.
Because Twilight was both a book and a film, there was no shortage of potential tattoo subjects.
The book’s popularity prompted the film’s production, but it was the film’s release that saw the fan base grow in size and passion.
Tattoos containing phrases from the novel, such as “and so the lion fell in love with the lamb,” a reference to the story of the book’s principal protagonists, a vampire and a late-adolescent girl, are the outcome.
All of this has a fascinating backstory. Twilight and its sequel volumes are the type of story that enthrals an audience and holds them fascinated for months, if not years, yet they are rarely read by those beyond the age of thirty-five.
As the decades pass, it will be interesting to see how individuals who realise they don’t appreciate Twilight as much as they once did respond.
